The Adjusters' Guide To Maine Workers' Compensation Law is intended to serve as a helpful tool for the clients of Robinson, Kriger & McCallum who handle Maine workers' compensation cases. The workers' compensation department at Robinson, Kriger & McCallum first proudly published the Guide in 1992. Since then there have been seven revisions. Each version has resulted from the collaborative efforts of our dedicated attorneys and staff. The periodic revisions to the Guide have become necessary primarily because of updates in Maine law brought about by legislative changes in the Maine Workers' Compensation Act, the Maine Workers' Compensation Board's changes in its Rules and Regulations, and the Maine Supreme Judicial Court's case-by-case interpretations of the law. When using the Guide, the reader needs to keep in mind that these changes are ongoing, and that as a result, its provisions may not still be 100% accurate. To that extent, the Guide cannot and should not be substituted for up-to-date legal advice on any given topic. While the Guide is intended to be an extremely useful resource for our clients, we encourage them to contact the workers' compensation department at Robinson, Kriger & McCallum directly if there is any question about the accuracy or meaning of any of its provisions. As with the publishing of the Guide itself, this is a service we are always happy to provide. |
