ATTORNEY BIOGRAPHY

Courtney graduated from The College of William and Mary in Virginia in 1999 with a B.A. in History. Following a stint as a paralegal, Courtney attended the University of Maine School of Law, obtaining her J.D. with honors in 2006.

While in law school, Courtney served as Co-Chair of the Moot Court Board, a member of the Trial Team and a Student Legal Writing Instructor. After graduation, she clerked for several justices of the Maine Superior Court before beginning her litigation career. Over the last 16 years, she has worked for several private firms and a non-profit, representing clients in a variety of civil litigation matters, including personal injury, employment discrimination, medical negligence, and disability rights matters, among others.

Courtney has a special interest in protecting the rights of Mainers with brain injuries. She serves on the Brain Injury Association of America-Maine Chapter Advisory Board and the Acquired Brain Injury Advisory Council, and was involved in securing passage of Maine brain injury rights legislation in 2021.

Courtney lives in Brunswick, Maine with her family. In her spare time, she enjoys ocean swimming, reading, and volunteering for a local reptile rescue.
